Butterfly Wall Tile

Terracotta wall tile featuring a Butterfly against a field of flowers.

A Peacock butterfly appears against a rich pattern of flowers. The background of late 15th and early 16th century French & Flemish tapestries were often filled with many hundreds of tiny flowers. This came to be known as mille-fleurs or thousand flowers.

Fixing Points: two holes towards the top and each side of the tile
